Puffin Foundation Grant
FUNDING MADE POSSIBLE BY THE PUFFIN FOUNDATION
I am thrilled to announce that I have been awarded a 2024 Puffin Foundation Grant. Receiving a Puffin Foundation grant is a significant milestone for my project on local American Elms in Cambridge, Somerville, Boston, and beyond! This grant will not only enable me to purchase more 8x10-inch B&W film and processing chemicals but also to create new, impactful pictures this year.
As I continue my search for American Elms in backyards and on the streets of the area, I am reaching out to friends and fellow citizens for their assistance. If you know of any American Elm trees near you, regardless of their age, I would greatly appreciate your help in locating them. I am interested in the human connection to the trees and would like to include portraits of tree owners in the project.
A bit about the Puffin Foundation from their website:
The Puffin Foundation Ltd. has sought to open the doors of artistic expression by providing grants to artists and art organizations who are often excluded from mainstream opportunities due to their race, gender, or social philosophy.
The Foundation’s grant search provides funds to hundreds of artists annually. You can find out more about those grants (and the application process) under the grantee menu. We also partner with numerous other organizations and institutions on special projects to bring the values of the Foundation to the public at large.
The Foundation also runs the Puffin Cultural Forum, a dynamic arts, discussion, and performance venue with which we share our space.
